My Yoga Story

Movement, breath, and presence—an invitation to come home to yourself.

Before anything else, I want you to know that yoga is for everyone—and yes, yoga can be fun. I love teaching in ways that are spacious, joyful, gentle, and sometimes quietly challenging. My classes are meant to feel open, supportive, and alive.

I found yoga in my early twenties while working long hours at a desk and living with constant neck and back pain. I wasn’t especially flexible and knew very little about yoga, but after just a few classes, I was hooked. Not only did my body begin to feel better, but something deeper shifted—I felt more at ease on the inside. That was the beginning of my yoga journey.

Years later, yoga truly carried me through a life-altering moment. I survived a small plane crash while newly pregnant, leaving my body in significant pain and traditional medical options limited. With patience, breath, and steady practice, yoga and acupuncture helped put me back together—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I remain deeply grateful for that time and for the healing these practices made possible.

Yoga has shaped my life in profound ways. I went on to open Be Yoga & Wellness in Charlotte, sharing this work with thousands of people over the years. As life evolved, so did my path, and I continue to teach with the same heart and intention.

My teaching style is compassionate, breath-focused, and grounded, with room for both depth and playfulness. I especially love guiding deep stretch, restorative, and slow flow practices—supporting both seasoned yogis and those stepping onto the mat for the very first time.
