My Acupuncture Story

I’ve always been a healer though it took me until my thirties to FULLY claim it with the start of my masters in acupuncture in 2003 at Tri-State College of Acupuncture in NYC. I’m often asked why acupuncture. Simple. I found that acupuncture worked in my body….and I discovered a system of medicine that allowed me space to be ME – intuitive, open hearted and caring. Chinese Medicine draws on the power of the natural world, the unseen forces of our energetic bodies AND is also steeped in concrete scientific rigor. Acupuncture, to me, is the perfect blend of knowledge and intuition or science and art.

Tri-State College of Acupuncture, on 14th Street in New York City, was the perfect school for me as we were encouraged at every level and every step to find our own voice and practice. We were taught three predominant forms of acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Japanese Acupuncture with Kiiko Matsumoto, and Trigger Point Dry Needling based on the work of Janet Travell. Today I integrate all of these for a balanced and holistic treatment. I particularly enjoy treating pain disorders, stress, anxiety, digestive disorders and fatigue. Basically, I enjoy helping and guiding people to live with as much ease and joy as possible.

When I’m not seeing patients you may find me taking or leading yoga workshops, walking my dog, sitting quietly in nature or laughing with friends & family. I currently live in Charlotte, NC with my husband, Andrew, and super sweet daughter.
